When a living room like the one in this East Hampton house is blessed with beautiful French doors and an abundance of light, a smart designer knows to leave well enough alone: Keep the windows undressed. Designer Larry Laslo did just that. He also enhanced the architecture’s airiness with a monochromatic palette of soft pearl and sand with dark wood accents.

The jewel―like sitting space of Hannah Cecil Gurney’s west London flat is home to a lavish collection of velvet – even the antique‐lamp from Les Couilles du Chien is wrapped in a rust‐colored cloth. Red accents disparity with the turquoise of the hand–painted ´de Gournay’ wallpaper.

Take―up the total area. Why have ´minimal` furniture when you can take‐up the total area in your living‐room plus generate a comfortable–ambience. A comfortable ambience starts together with having pieces of furniture that create the area appear lived in also warm. Getting the right furniture also taking―up the area can do just that.

Extra‐large coffee‐table. Coffee‐tables have been around for centuries. However, as the seasons change also the years go by coffee–tables continue to change in trends. One trend that is currently taking over is having an extra―large coffee―table. An extra‐large coffee‐table works well when it is paired in a snug living‐room. Have a coffee‐table in a dark also rich tone paired with a lighter color for an attractive contrast.

Pop of color, in an all‐white space and there should invariably be some sort of pop of tone. Doing so breaks‐down all the white plus brings a focal‐point to the space. Focal―points are always good also interesting. Select a bold color such as ’blue‘ and red plus yellow also green or use accent–chair in one of those shades.

Whimsical features. The word "whimsical" is mainly used to report a charming and feminine area that `excels` in calming features. In this case, it is used to report a soft decorating manner that simply feels genuine to the area. In order to make a ’whimsical‘ feature in the living‐room and you want to append an appealing plus yet softer sofa doesn’t ´command´ the area. Alternatively, it appears to simply flow together with the rest of the‐decor.
